Robert J. Mayer, M.D.
Dr. Mayer will present “Colorectal Cancer: An Overview.”
Dr. Mayer is the Stephen B. Kay Professor of Medicine and the Faculty Associate Dean for Admissions at Harvard University Medical School. After earning his medical degree from Harvard University, Dr. Mayer completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and served fellowships in Hematology and Oncology at the National Cancer Institute and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Dr. Mayer is recognized internationally for his expertise in treating gastrointestinal malignancies. He has served as the Program Director for the Medical Oncology Fellowship Program at Dana-Farber for more than 25 years, and has been responsible for the education of more than 250 trainees, many of whom have assumed major leadership roles throughout the United States.
A past President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Dr. Mayer currently serves as Vice Chair for Academic Affairs at the Dana-Farber Department of Medical Oncology and Director of Dana-Farber’s Center for Gastrointestinal Oncology. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology and Hematology.
